Bio

Joseph Daniel "JD" Adamson was born in San Jose, California in 1953--long before Silicon Valley destroyed the orchards, paved the fertile ground, and found him there.  He stayed in the general vicinity until 1997, when he left for Texas where he lives today.  He lived for a while in the Santa Cruz mountains near a small town called Boulder Creek. Redwoods flourish there, and he lived among them for many years, commuting over the Santa Cruz mountains into the technology capital of the world. Now, in Texas, JD lives near Lake Sam Rayburn in the Jewel of the Piney Woods of East Texas, once again among the trees.

He earned a B.A. in math with a concentration in computer science from San Jose State University. Before and after he received his degree he worked for General Electric's nuclear energy engineering division, where he used and wrote software for a boiling water nuclear reactor simulation program, and utilized these tools to optimize uranium fuel consumption to provide the most safe power for the longest time.

After that JD moved into the aerospace industry and engineered software for commercial airplanes as well as military aircraft.  He worked on many projects during that time, including top secret programs for the USA government.

After moving to Texas, he became involved in the space program as a software engineer for companies contracting to NASA at the Johnson Space Center, and specialized in simulations and applications for training astronauts in the use of the International Space Station robotic arm.  He retired in September 2019.

Musically, JD likes to play piano and other keyboards, acoustic and electric guitar, harmonicas (blues harp style mostly), and sing. He likes to record his music and make it freely available on the internet. He sometimes writes songs and composes music, but most often just improvises to let the music within him, out.
