Introduction

Welcome to Harmonica-Info .com, new home of information from the venerable Diatonic Harmonica Reference, originally at angelfire.com/tx/myquill   .

I don't get into Chromatic harmonicas on this site. I get waaay into things regarding diatonic harmonicas (or "harps"), with a focus on blues improvisation.

The target audience is the new self-starter student who wants to learn about playing harmonica in several positions with good tone, the intermediate player who wants to learn about more note layouts, new techniques, and improvising theory or the circle of fifths, and the advanced player, whose expertise is required to understand the music theory or play the techniques  required.

The "Start" button takes you to an extensive list of things you can do on the harmonica, with associated examples.  It's a good place to start and provides a long list that runs from the basics to the more advanced.  The site map shows how to get to the major topics.

I think a tablet provides the best reading experience. Phones are often a little small for the abount of text in a long artile.

You are going to love this site!  Know how I know? You've read this far..
